Auntie Martha's Bread Pudding

Ingredients 4 Slices Rye Bread 4 Slices Pumpernickel Bread 3 Eggs 3/4 Cup Sugar 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon Nutmeg, grated Salt 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 2 Tablespoons Strawberry Jam 8 Prunes, cut into pieces 1 Stick Margarine or Butter, melted


Directions

1. Remove crusts from bread and soak in warm water. Squeeze out excess.

2. Combine all the remaining ingredients. Bake in greased pan at 350 til it feels almost firm. Sprinkle with a few drops of boiling water and return to the oven for 5 minutes.


Notes This is a recipe that Auntie Martha tried to give me measurements for but that she made by "guess". It is worth the experimenting and really cannot come out any other than well. Don't worry about leftovers. There will not be any.
