Ingredients 2 pounds jar herring fillets in wine sauce w/onions 2 rolls 2 onions 2 apples, peeled, cored 6 eggs, hard boiled
Instructions Cut up rolls in bowl. Drain herring fillets and put juice on rolls. Let this stand until rolls have become soft. Grind herring, onions, apples, eggs and squeezed out rolls. Discard juice. Add dash of pepper and 1 or 2 T sugar. Mix well.
Notes
This serves nicely with thinly sliced cocktail rye bread.
